Plan for Intervention Social Constructivist Theory Secondly, the intervention goal is to improve students’ comfortability and motivation to work together to co-create knowledge. To promote group work and collaboration, cooperative learning will be used so students can work together to make sense of new information and solve problems. The first step is to ensure that the students understand and believe that the classroom is a safe and a nonjudgmental environment which will be accomplished by having students at the beginning of the schoolyear introduce themselves, provide their interests, and state what they would like to learn from the class. The teacher will establish pre-assigned, diverse, semester-length, groups for students to complete group work. Compulsory Education In this paper, I am going to examine and compare my views on education to the great philosophers Aristotle, Socrates and Plato. Education should not be something forced on people from a very young age. We are educating our children to be master test takers who conform to the norm and not to think outside the box. My position is supported by Socrates in Plato s The Republic and Aristotle in his Nicomachean Ethics, Book II. Because students waste too much time on testing, education should not be compulsory . First of all school should be voluntary. Cost model and revaluation model are methods used in accounting to value property plant and equipment. Usually the methods take into account the lifetime and deprecation of anassets and estimates the current value, however the two methods do differ in various ways. For cost model the asset is carried at its cost less any accumulated depreciation or impairment loss. Asset continues to be recorded at original cost and in most times lacking a residual value at the end of its useful life.This model only allows downward adjustment.On the other hand revaluation model considers the fair value of the asset that is the revalued amount at the date of revaluation less subsequent depreciation and impairment, provided the fair value can be measured reliably (Iasplus.com, 2016).in this case salvage value is often realized. This model permits both upward and downward adjustment. Cost Model Companies currently applying the cost model whereby they are limited to only on depreciation of assets till there is no salvage value, fail to recon that the written off asset after it useful life time will still be disposed at a value and that amount will not reflect on the balance sheet, consequently this leads to decrease in assets value and also the value the company which in turn eats into the shareholders capital, since property plant and equipment in most companies comprises about 80% of the total assets. Creditors are also forced to hold back their supplies since once the companys asset decrease in value, the debt ratio (calculated as Total Liabilities/Total Assets) increases which is not favorable for business in the long run (Greener, n.d.). As for the shareholders they may not be able to enjoy occasional increase in dividends as cost model is not flexible as depreciation will remain constant throughout the working years of an asset resulting to constant profits and hence c onstant dividends (all other factors constant) which is distributed once time interest earned (Profit before tax + interest expense/interest expense)rises above 3. However the senior management will enjoy the cost model since there is less work to be done due to the predetermined downward adjustment method that only involves calculation to determine the current value of an asset (Atrissi, n.d.). This saves the senior managers cash that eventually appears at the profit and loss account as profit, however in the long run its a loss to the company since the same management enjoys acquiring the assets at a throw away price due to lack of a salvage value in the records. Revaluation model As for the revaluation model companies are able to address a lot and save a lot in the process. The model takes into account various factors such as market price and employs methods like selective revaluation which avoid generalization of assets, appraisal method where external appraisers who have expertise in appraising are paid to revalue the assets. Revaluation is used in order to attain the following, To provide reserves that are spend in replacing the equipment after its useful life time, since provision for depreciation reflects inflated profits and may lead to payment of exaggerated dividends. To indicate the present value of an asset especially land and building that appreciate with time. It also puts a company at a better position in negotiations during mergers and acquisitions. With the application of this model the senior management will be tasked with the duty of conducting the revaluation at every end of financial year and also be forced to lias with external appraisers who require payment for their services. The model takes a lot of time during revaluation as each and every technique must be applied in order to arrive at a reliable value (King, 2011). The luxury of acquiring assets from the company at a throw away price will also be waived from the management since residual value will be reflecting on the records at end of the assets useful life and incase of disposal one should meet the price to acquire asset. Recommendation We recommend that the chief executive officer (CEO) stick to the cost model that has less cost implications on the company as well as the stake holders. According to the calculations Debt ratio (calculated as Total Liabilities/Total Assets) must be less than 0.6 Debt ratio = (($17,500,000 + $2,500,000) / $35,500,000)) =0.56338 The calculation above shows that the company is operating with in its limits and that creditors are engaged with a secure organization, though the company cannot carry any more debt since the value is almost equal to the stipulated 0.6 mark Times interest earned ratio (calculated as Profit before tax + interest expense/interest expense) Times interest earned ratio = (($2,000,000 + $250,000 + $900,000) / $900,000) = 3.5 According to the calculations above it shows clearly that the company is performing well and it can be able to issue out dividends as the times interest ratio has surpassed the stipulated ratio which 3 an above. However the methods can be applied together such that the property like land buildings plant and machinery will be adjusted using the revaluation model while cost model will be used to value furniture fittings office equipments and vehicles. Conclusion Companies that employ cost model are by far saving on operational cost as well as time needed to value the assets, not only do the companies provide uniformity through constant depreciation (downward adjustment) but also can be able to adjust the percentage at which an asset is depreciated the model also plays a beneficial role to senior managers such that they are able to gain on disposal of such assets , however the model fails to consider property plant and equipment, includes land and buildings which there value continues to increase as time goes. On the other hand revaluation model may either increase or decrease the value of an asset during each end year revaluation. For he is old enough to have lived through and taken in these rudimentary views (no disrespect intended). However the pros can easily rebut the allegation of the Cons. Young men as energetic as they will be are constantly requiring to do something. Think of the pockets as a restraining device to prevent fidgeting and fooling around with other students. In this way the pockets prevent students from being distracted from the speaker or the subject they should be observant of. This prevents the students from having a disrespectful response. Then comes the comfort factor. Students claim that it is more comfortable to have their hands in their pockets when they are standing up. Heed that it is proven that people have longer attention spans, listen more attentively, and remain calmer and more relaxed when more comfortable. This leads to a greater increase in the productivity of the student's actions or listening skills. As it has been proven Students having their hands in their pockets will make them better and more attentive listeners and prevent them from getting up to mischief. Is better the students have their hands in their own pockets than be fooling around in someone else's.

The obvious sex difference has translated and now is firmly rooted as the gender difference that manifests itself in the roles that men and women are supposed to play. For a long time women have been confined to homes (sometimes it was a voluntary decision) and they have been expected to bring up children and take care of other social and societal obligations. But as the world evolved and the revolutions ensued women began to look beyond their homes for a life. This, obviously, caused quite a flutter among the puritans who still desperately clung on to the belief that the hand that rocks the cradle should not be paid. Transgressing from the unwritten rules of male female role-play was blasphemy the conservatives cried. But thanks to courageous women like Joa n-of –Arc, who led the French army against the British, women found a new life that led to avenues and careers they never thought existed. Now, a couple of centuries after women first began working there is a general if not grudging acceptance to the idea of working women. Women today are scaling new heights, setting higher goals and are climbing the corporate ladder. The working woman has finally arrived. : What women really want? Most women who venture out to start a new business face three major problems. First they have a difficult time raising capital for their business because most loan providers are skeptical of a woman run business. Second, they have to find a balance between home and work. This is a unique problem for women who run their business (other working women who are employed face this problem to a lesser degree) as it entails being at the helm of affairs (read crises) at work and running a perfect household as well. The third challenge for business owners is to be taken seriously by their peers; on the face of it the issue seems a petty one but then any business owner needs the acceptance from the peer group-it gives them a sense of pride and satisfaction. The lack of such respect could also have a severe damaging effect on the business as the non-acceptance by competitors may translate to consumer wariness towards the product. Women on top: As more and more women began to join the workforce there was a need to do more than just work for somebody. Women started to take risks and start their own ventures. Most such ventures started out very small and most of these women wanted little more than to fulfill their creative potential or meet a basic need. But as time passed by and their businesses flourished they began to move beyond the comfort zone and expand their businesses. These are the women who have made their sisters believe that they too can. One such enterprising woman, touted as the most successful woman in the twentieth century, was the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics Mary Kay Ash. Embittered by the male-dominated workplace where she was repeatedly denied promotions she launched her own cosmetic store with the help of her son and the rest as they say is history. The company became one of the largest cosmetic products manufacturers ever. Anita Roddick, Madame C.J.Walker, Coco Chanel and Estee Lauder all discovered op portunities in their problems and went on to make a name for themselves in the beauty and fashion business. Debbie Fields made her chocolate chip cookie a national dessert rage when she decided to start selling cookies at age 20 to earn just a little extra. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the founder of Biocon, also braved all odds to become the most successful (and the richest) woman entrepreneur in India. Their stories are all different but all of these enterprising women have what the Ernst and Young survey called the Top Qualities required to make an effective entrepreneur-resourcefulness, hard work, creativity and risk taking ability. These women recognized disguised opportunities and made the most of them. But more importantly they have shown other women (and men) that their dreams were not impossible. Women in the corporate world: Unlike their counterparts in the entrepreneurship arena the corporate women seldom make it to the top in their offices. The number of women on the board of directors is abysmally low in most companies. However, in recent years, the number of women making it to the elite panel of directors has steadily been on the rise. There were 10 women CEOs in the Fortune 500 companies in Apple, Accenture and Coca-Cola all ushered in female directors on board in the last couple of years. PepsiCo elected Indra Nooyi as the CEO in a landmark move. Brenda Barnes is CEO of Sara Lee; Anne Mulcahy heads Xerox and Janet Robinson leads New York Times. The number of women at the helm of affairs in major companies is testament to the under recognized managerial capability of women. These women too are standing examples for millions of women across the world of what can be achieved. Is gender bias really transgressed? Women face discrimination. It is a statement tacitly agreed upon in office corridors and living rooms alike. They face discrimination right from the entry point to the final destination. Most women complain about being bypassed for jobs simply because the company cites security being a reason for the job on hand-positions that demand graveyard shifts and frequent travel are examples. They begin to find solace in secure positions at work and opt out of the race in the early stages because they think that they cannot find a balance between the family and professional lives.
